September 2023

A New Start

Bulletin: September 2023

Welcome

At the start of a new academic year Generate Teaching Hub sends a warm welcome to the dedicated staff in trusts, colleges, schools and early years across Halton, Warrington and Wigan.

As the Department for Education’s designated Teaching School Hub for Halton, Warrington and Wigan, Generate Teaching Hub has another busy programme of professional development planned and ready. We offer coordinated support for education professionals from entry through to senior leadership; connecting colleagues to locally based, high quality professional development.

Every half term we will share a detailed bulletin, giving information on funded professional development opportunities for our area. This short welcome bulletin message highlights a few imminent opportunities as we all settle into our new term.

For the latest updates see our News page or follow us through our Twitter or LinkedIn pages.

Collaboration

To date nearly 1,500 colleagues have accessed our services in our first two years!

Generate can only operate at this scale through the support and participation of local partners. We are always seeking new teachers and leaders to be trained to facilitate on our programmes. In each area we have a lead school (see below) who are crucial in communicating and coordinating the delivery of our services to all local schools, trusts and education settings.

Thank you to everyone who came to the end of year conference on 12th July – Valuing Leaders – it was great to have so many colleagues from Halton, Warrington and Wigan together. We especially want to thank our speakers for sharing their insight and experience with us! Details from the day will be shared in full in the next bulletin along with our programme, announced on the day, to engage school and trust leaders.

What is a Teaching School Hub?

We will be providing more details at headteacher forums and briefings on our full designation from the DfE. Now we are starting our 3rd year of designation we have so much to report and so many resources to offer to local schools. A quick video guide produced last year can be found here.
