Generate Teaching Hub Staff Survey

At the start of our journey in Autumn Term 2021 we shared a short staff training and development survey with schools. Thank you to everyone who took part.

This pilot survey allowed us to identify the evidence we need to gather locally to support our role in understanding the training needs of teachers in Halton, Warrington and Wigan. This is in turn assists in representing those needs to the Department for Education and the resources we can draw down to support local teachers and school leaders.

The number of respondents was lower than required to make firm conclusions. However, 10% of our school community was represented so this first survey provides a baseline for future analysis.

In the Summer Term 2022 we will share our annual training and development survey to gather consistent feedback and insight. Our contacts and communication structures have grown since the Autumn and we expect to be able to gather detailed insight from the process.

Highlights from the Autumn Term 2021 survey include:

  1. Educational professions hold multiple roles in schools and that this increases as teachers become more senior.
  2. Support for individual training and development needs across our schools is not conducted to a common standard or level
  3. Identifying common local need amongst our school community will be difficult.
  4. A need to raise awareness, especially amongst school leaders, of what training and development support exists for the profession and who / when to access it.
