English Hubs
Evidence based resources, training and specialist support for English
The purpose of English Hubs is to promote high-quality phonics teaching and to support schools in teaching children to read, in order to achieve excellence in early literacy teaching.
All English Hubs share 3 main aims:
- Improve the teaching of phonics.
- Support early language and reading in Reception and Year One.
- Promote a love of reading.
The English Hubs run regular showcase events and online training. They can also offer, resources dependent, in-school audits of early language and reading provision and specialist literacy teacher support. Hubs can also help develop an action plan for improving the teaching of early language, phonics and early reading.
First Steps to Engagement
The first step in seeking support is to attend a Showcase where you will see best practice in the teaching of early language and reading through the teaching of systematic synthetic phonics.
