Does Your School Want to Host a Trainee Placement?
As part of our DfE appointed strategic role supporting the teaching workforce from entry to senior leadership, we are seeking to understand how local schools are engaging in supporting teacher training.
If your school has not yet been contacted by our team, please feel free to share your views, approach or expectations of teacher training through this short Google form.
Our team will be in touch in response to your answers or questions. Later in the year we will be able to share more information on how schools in Halton, Warrington and Wigan can, and the benefits of hosting hosting trainees.
ITT Training Is Evolving
From September 2024 the trainee teaching year will see several structural changes.
One significant adaption will be the Intensive Training and Practice (ITaP) weeks. These will be embedded in a trainee’s year and involve closer alignment of training and classroom practice.
Accredited ITT Providers are currently developing models for this new development opportunity and will be engaging their schools in finding suitable locations, redesigning training curriculum and seeking experts to enhance the learning.
The DfE have outlined the rationale and expectations of ITaPs to the development of new teachers here.
