Leaders’ Insights October 2023
We have dedicated webpage updating school and trust leaders on professional development related reports and policies. This will be added to as material is released.
We also offer all 4 Leadership National Professional Qualifications (NPQs). They are also currently fully funded to state funded schools and there are small school grant for releasing staff.
For leaders qualified to at least level 3 with a full and relevant qualification who are, or are aspiring to be: childminders with leadership responsibilities; managers of private, voluntary and independent nurseries; headteachers of school-based or maintained nurseries.
For school leaders who are, or are aspiring to be, a senior leader with cross-school responsibilities.
For school leaders who are, or are aspiring to be, a headteacher or head of school with responsibility for leading a school.
For school leaders who are, or are aspiring to be, an executive headteacher or have a school trust CEO role with responsibility for leading several schools.
We work in partnership with our Local Area Leads to coordinate training cohorts across Halton, Warrington and Wigan.
We are a licenced NPQ delivery partner for both Best Practice Network and Teach First.
Applications for February 2024
The cohorts starting this Autumn are now being finalised. The next fully funded wave of NPQs will be starting in February 2024 and applications open from November.

You will also find the newly released frameworks for NPQ in Primary Maths (starting Spring 2024) and NPQ in Leading SEN (starting Autumn 2024) available on the DfE website.
The frameworks provide the evidence base and competencies that the programmes will deliver.
