Valuing Local Leadership Conference, 12th July 2023

Policy

Generate Teaching Hub are excited to be able to invite school and Trust leaders from Halton, Warrington and Wigan to our annual conference.

On 12th July 2023 from 9am-1pm, at the Mecure Hotel in St. Helen’s, we will be gathering to celebrate the hard work and dedication of our local leaders. Applications are open to anyone with leadership responsibilities in schools, Trusts, Early Years setting and education partners. It is suitable for CEOs, Headteachers, Deputy/Assistant Headteachers, members of Senior Leadership Teams and those with team leadership responsibilities.

The day will be interactive to encourage networking, questions and peer learning with a focus on recognising the value of local leaders and their good practice. Delegates will leave the conference having been inspired by local colleagues and full of practical information, ideas and resources to share with their teams. All our workshops are led by local leaders.

The day is fully funded* and starts at 9am, finishing at 1pm with a networking lunch.

The current agenda is as follows:

09.00 Arrivals and refreshments

09.15 Welcome

09.30 Key note speaker: Mark Cotton, Independent Hub Assessor sharing insight on Leading Whole School Development.

10.00 Key note speaker: A young person’s view on what a great school leader looks, sounds and feels like.

10.30 1st Workshop Session – one session from choice of:

    • The impact of great facilitators led by The Challenge Academy Trust.
    • Examples of workload reduction and its impact of staff led by Golborne High School.
    • Using CPD to develop your teaching staff led by Lunt’s Heath Primary School & Wade Deacon Trust.

11.15 Coffee break

11.30 2nd Workshop Session – one session from the choice above.

12.15 Key Note Speaker: Akeim Mundell, Assistant Headteacher, William Hulme’s Grammar School sharing his experience of the value and importance of harnessing and enabling diversity in our staff teams.

12.45 Closing remarks: Bernard Clarke, Director, Generate Teaching Hub

13.00 Networking lunch

*The event is fully funded to support the mission of Generate Teaching Hub and connect teachers and schools from Halton, Warrington and Wigan to great professional development. Registering details does not guarantee a place and priority will be given to ‘first apply’ basis AND to schools, trusts and education providers in Halton, Warrington and Wigan. Confirmation of a place will be sent by email with instructions.  If demand exceeds capacity we may limit tickets to multiple applications from the same organisation. The exact agenda for the day is liable to change. Attendees who do not provide advanced, written notice of being unable to attend may be liable for a £75 event fee.
