Following a DfE announcement Tuesday 12th October 2021, we are pleased to share that the National Professional Qualifications are now open to ALL state-maintained schools and academies in England.

The funding announcement will apply to those eligible schools applying for the Spring cohort and those that have already registered for the Autumn cohort.  This means ALL the following NPQs can be accessed by eligible schools at no cost:

Specialist NPQs – Over 12 months

  • National Professional Qualification for Leading Teacher Development
  • National Professional Qualification for Leading Behaviour and Culture
  • National Professional Qualification for Leading Teaching

Leadership NPQs – Over 18 months

  • National Professional Qualification for Senior Leadership
  • National Professional Qualification for Headship
  • National Professional Qualification for Executive Leadership

Applications are now open for the final cohort of 2021/22 starting February 2022 – the closing date is 17th December.

Find out more about each NPQ and apply online with Best Practice Network stating Generate Teaching Hub as your local provider.

You can also Download our NPQ brochure for more details on each programme.

Robin Walker the Minister of State for School Standards, said

“We are investing a huge amount in teacher development as part of our education recovery, reflecting the fundamental role that quality teaching has as we support our young people back from the impact of the pandemic.

It’s vital that we maximise the reach of this investment, so as many teachers as possible – and as many young people as possible – can benefit. That’s why, going forward, we are now making the newly reformed suite of National Professional Qualifications (NPQ’s) freely available to all teachers and leaders in state-funded schools and colleges, and I hope this will encourage lots more teachers to apply.”

We would encourage all interested teachers to apply before 17th December, and contact Generate Teaching Hub Hub@wpat.uk  with any questions.
