Free Non Specialist secondary Maths Training

NW3 Maths Hub is running a SKTM (Specialist Knowledge for Teaching Maths) for Non Specialists this term which includes Wigan schools.

This is 6-day programme covering Key Stage 3 Maths content, written by the NCETM, delivered by local Maths Hubs for qualified teachers that are not maths trained but will be teaching maths in 2023-24.

There is no charge for the programme, but places are limited so there is an expectation that participants commit to attending all sessions.

Dates have been confirmed as those below and the venue is Up Holland High School, Sandbrook Rd, Up Holland, Orrell, Wigan WN5 7AL

• Thursday 29th July 9:30 – 3:30pm
• Tuesday 4th July 1-4pm
• Thursday 6th July 9:30 – 3:30pm
• Tuesday 11th July 1 – 4pm
• Friday 14th July 9:30 – 3:30pm

There will be a further 2 days in September to be confirmed.

All resources are provided and there will be opportunities to observe lesson in the Autumn term.
