Our Training Routes
Warrington School-Based Teacher Training delivers local initial teacher training (ITT) programmes based on our long experience of primary and early years education. Over the years this has allowed us to increasingly specialise and offer the following routes leading to Qualified Teacher Status (QTS):
- PGCE Primary (5 to 11)
- PGCE Primary (3 to 7)
- PGCE Primary with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (children aged 5 to 11)
Placement Locations
As one of the largest primary School-Based Teacher Training providers in our region we have a wide range of partnership schools who agree to host our trainees each year. Our placement schools are mainly concentrated in the Warrington area with several other schools in Halton, St. Helens and Cheshire.
Why School-Based Training Works
School-Based Teacher Training is a school-led route into Initial Teacher Training leading to qualified teacher status and apostgraduate certificate in education. Our full-time, non-salaried programme runs from early September to July and is a highly successful partnership between local schools and Liverpool Hope University (our accredited teacher training provider).
Warrington School-Based Teacher Training is proud of its outstanding team of mentors who support each of our trainees every step of the way. With regular contact and personalised support available we have a high percentage of trainees graduating as ‘Outstanding’ and maintain our 100% pass and excellent employment rates year on year.
