How We Select ITT Applicants
The Generate Teaching Hub team invest a significant amount of time and resources into the selection process to each candidate can be confident of choosing the right teacher training route to start their career in teaching.
Shortlisting
All applications undergo a shortlisting process and the best candidates will be invited to undertake an interview. When we receive notice of your application through DfE Apply we contact you to arrange a time for interview.
Interview & Observation
Interviews take place in person at one of our placement schools and include an observed task with a small group of children (online interviews may be arranged in some circumstances).
The interview panel is keen to learn about you, your interest in teaching and your expectations. The panel will include a representative from Generate as well as a senior leader from one of our placement schools.
You will be able to ask lots of questions from our team and ensure you have all the information you need to choose Generate Teaching Hub for this pivotal time in your career.
Submission of qualification certificates and identification is requested in advance. A literacy assessment is also sent before the interview day.
For face to face interviews we ask you to prepare and teach a short lesson to a small group of children for observation by the interviewers. For online interviews we ask you to make a presentation on why you want to be a teacher and the panel will be keen to learn of your experience, your understanding of the teaching profession plus the skills you bring from your previous study, work and life experience.
Accepting Our Offer
Following this, successful candidates will be made a formal offer to join our programme. We will liaise with Liverpool Hope University to process your offer and enrol you on the programme ready for a September 2024 start.
Please note, that any offer of a place on our programme is conditional on a satisfactory Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service check and a Fitness to Teach Declaration.
Finally, we recommend applicants attend all their interviews before making their final choice of programme.
