Year 1 ECTs – April 2023 Cohort – January Update

This news page is for all Early Career Teachers who are started their ECF programme with Generate Teaching Hub in April 2023.

Although the January days are still cold and dark, we are now well into the final term of Year 1 of your ECF journey.

Focus on Reading & Writing

During this term, your ECF training will focus on developing pupils’ reading and writing.

You will have the opportunity to reflect on how you are currently supporting all pupils to be successful.

Whatever your phase (EYFS, Primary, Secondary, Post 16 or Special) you will find out more about strategies which you can implement into your practice to further build or refine what you are already doing.

Online Activities

Don’t forget to keep up to date with your Brightspace activities.

Brightspace is designed to complement your live seminars and provide further learning opportunities.

You can review your progress on Brightspace to check that you’ve not missed any useful resources and, don’t forget there’s also the optional pages of stretch content, additional resources and reading references.

Engagement with Brightspace is monitored by Teach First, along with seminar attendance, to ensure that you meet the full requirements of the ECF programmes.
