04 Early Career Teachers
School life is always busy and the summer term often takes the ‘busyness’ to another level! Many of you will currently be involved in statutory assessments, along with in-house assessments and report writing. As an ECT, it can become a little overwhelming. Remember to make time for your development during this period and continue to build on the amazing progress you have already made.
Attending seminars is a crucial part of the ECF programme – engaging with experienced facilitators and networking with other ECTs supports your development as a teacher. It is also important that you continue to access your training on Brightspace. You can review your progress to check that you’ve not missed any useful resources and, don’t forget there’s also the optional pages of stretch content, additional resources and reading references. Engagement with Brightspace is monitored by Teach First, along with seminar attendance, to ensure that you meet the full requirements of the ECF programmes. As always, if you are having difficulty accessing any aspect of Brightspace or attending seminars then do get in touch with Amie Losh, who will be happy to help alosh@wpat.uk
At the recent AB Board meeting, it was great to read of the progress that ECTs are making – our AB Assessors are keen to read of your experiences. The evidence given by Induction Tutors, in Progress Reports and Assessments, is extremely positive. However, the Board would be delighted to hear your thoughts about your achievements and successes each term, so please ensure that you complete the ‘ECT Comments’ section fully.
To help you write your reflections, look at Generate Guides in the Resources Section on ECT Manager, which provides examples to help you.
