01 Early Career Teacher Entitlement (ECTE)
We are really excited to see all of the ECTs and mentors starting Year 1 of the ECTP (Early Career Training Programme), or heading into Year 2 of the ECF at their Welcome Conferences over the next few weeks! ECTs and mentors should attend the conference within the Local Authority Area in which their school is based.
Just a reminder about mentor training.....mentor training is completely separate from ECT training. Regardless of whether the ECT they are mentoring is a Year 1 ECT or a Year 2 ECT, mentors follow their own training pathway (2 years on the ECF and 1 year on the new ECTP). If you have any questions about mentor training do contact our ECTE Project Co-ordinator, Amie Derbyshire aderbyshire@wpat.uk who will be happy to help.
A quick message for Induction Tutors! If you have not yet registered your ECTs and mentors on the DfE portal, please complete this as soon as possible. ECTs and mentors who are on the Teach First programme will not receive access to the online learning platform ‘Brightspace’ without this registration. The link for the DfE portal is: https://manage-training-for-early-career-teachers.education.gov.uk/users/sign_in
All Year 1 ECTs and mentors will receive seminar dates for the academic year from their key contact, who is listed below dependent on area. If you have not yet received these dates, please get in touch with your key contact who will be more than happy to support. Year 2 ECTs and mentors, along with January and April cohorts receive their seminar dates directly from Generate, again Amie Derbyshire will be happy to help with any queries.
