01 Early Career Teacher Entitlement and ECF
A huge thank you and well done to all the ECTs and Mentors who have now completed their first (or another term) of their training and induction! We are currently working with Teach First to identify those ECTs and Mentors who have not yet fully engaged and will be contacting them shortly. If you have had difficulties accessing Brightspace or attending seminars, then please do contact us – we are here to help!
Register your new ECTs!
If schools have any ECTs joining them after the Christmas Break, then do make sure that you have registered them for their induction and training. There are two steps to registration:
Register with the DfE
ECTs and Mentors must be registered with the the DfE’s online Manage Early Career Teachers Service (known as the DfE Portal).
Manage training for early career teachers
If you wish to access the Fully Funded Early Career Teacher Training Programme, then choose Teach First as the Lead Provider and Generate as the Delivery Partner
Register with an Appropriate Body
Generate is the Appropriate Body for Halton, Warrington and Wigan schools. You must register via ECT Manager.

Once registered, new ECTs and Mentors will be invited to their Welcome Conferences in January.
January 2025 ECTs and Mentors
As you move into the second year of your ECF training, you will be invited to a Welcome to Year 2 Conference in January and start to join Year 2 seminars online. Look out for further details coming from our team.
Mentor Changes
We know that staffing in schools often changes resulting in changes to mentors for ECTs. Please do get in touch if you need to action a change of mentor and we can talk you through the steps you need to take
