01 Early Career Teacher Entitlement and ECF
Thank you to all Induction Tutors who completed the Autumn Term’s Progress Reviews and Assessments before Christmas. It was great to see so many examples of good practice highlighted at the Appropriate Body Board Meeting. The vast majority of reports clearly linked ECT’s progress to the Teachers’ Standards and gave examples of evidence to support this. It was also good to see how schools are now linking development targets to Teachers’ Standards. The Board reported that, in some cases, targets were still quite vague and not specific enough to enable ECTs to make incremental steps in meeting Teachers’ Standards at the end of their two-year induction period. There are lots of examples of good practice in the Resources Section of ECT Manager to support you in writing your reports, which we are constantly updating with ‘real-life’ examples from our schools. If you have any questions or need any support in writing your reports, do get in touch with our AB Co-ordinator, Cath O’Neill, who will be happy to help.
