Our Schools and Placements
Placements
Placements are the heart of our School-Based Teacher Training course. Time in the classroom – supported by experienced teachers as mentors – for each trainee is fundamental to a successful start to a teaching career.
School-Based training will take place in local, partner schools in the Warrington area with other schools in Halton. Our placement schools are graded as Good or Outstanding by Ofsted.
You will compete a minimum of 120 days in placement in two different schools where mentors will guide, support and develop your professional skills and knowledge. Placements are chosen based on trainees’ development needs and prior experience with an aim to offer the broadest experience possible and to develop them as teaching professionals.
School visits
For prospective teacher trainees, Generate Teaching Hub School-Based Teacher Training holds regular visits to our host schools in Warrington Primary Academy Trust.
These visits are a great way to find out more about our programme and prepare yourself for interview. You can meet the team, ask questions, see how our schools are run as well as experience our culture and community.
We will explain more about the programme, how it is structured and our partner schools. Led by our Initial Teacher Training Manager, we can provide bespoke information to each candidate to ensure our Teacher Training offer meets the current needs of applicants.
Anyone interested in Teacher Training can request a visit.
