Teacher Apprenticeships
Generate Teaching Hub are delighted to work with Best Practice Network who can offer an alternative route into teaching via apprenticeships to enable graduates working as support staff in schools that are in, or near, Warrington to train for QTS at Primary for 3 to 7 years and 5 to 11 years.
This is a great opportunity for support staff in schools who are qualified to degree level to remain in school, (with weekly day release), and join BPN’s high quality programme through a local cohort in Warrington and Halton. Our next intake starts in September.
Apprentices earn while they learn, with 12 months of direct training followed by up to 3 months for the End Point Assessment. The Apprenticeship ITT lasts for 4 terms and involves day release to join our expert led teacher training programme and a 6-week placement, (during term 2), in another contrasting school setting.
A bespoke learning platform compliments the training and everyday practice. A personalised mentor supports the observation of practice, compiling a portfolio and then submitting evidence to complete the programme.
Expert Led Training
Generate teaching Hub build a high quality and independently assured teacher training programme every year. Starting each September, the training curriculum is designed for early years and primary practitioners. We use local schools drawing on experienced leaders, curriculum leads and teachers for training and arrange a system of mentoring support for the whole year, to enable you to adapt, learn and succeed as a teacher.
During the year a calendar of evidence-based training is provided from local school-based venues or online if appropriate, covering the primary curriculum – core and foundation subjects, specialist areas, (such as Early Years and Special Educational Needs) – and enrichment topics.
This comprehensive offer is complemented by training in planning, assessment, metacognition, classroom practice and behaviour, ensuring that all trainees leave the year with a full suite of tools, resources and knowledge to deliver the whole curriculum.
From September 2024 we will be offering 4 weeks of Intensive Training and Practice to provide further opportunities to learn skills and gain knowledge that is immediately applied and practiced. These will be adapted for Apprenticeship trainees.
As a Teaching School Hub our School-Based Teacher Training is led by a team that provides strategic leadership to all teacher training providers across Halton, Warrington and Wigan in best practice to apply learning in the classroom.
6-Week Placement
In term 2, teacher training apprenticeships complete a 6-week placement at a different education setting to their employed role.
Our ITT team plan a contrasting placement to widen practitioner experience and deepen trainees’ knowledge of classroom practice. We carefully match your development needs to the placement.
