How to Apply
Generate Teaching Hub delivers a local Initial Teacher Training programme registered through Evelyn Street Primary School in Warrington – a school rated as Outstanding by Ofsted and one of the top three primary schools in England.
We provide a placement-led, full-time, non-salaried programme known as SCHOOL DIRECT with partner schools in the surrounding area and are accredited by Liverpool Hope University. Successful Trainee Teachers leave the year with their Qualified Teacher Status (known as QTS). From this year they can apply for positions in a school and move on to their 2-year induction as an Early Career Teacher.
We offer three specialist School Direct routes:
- PGCE Primary (5 to 11) (Code: 38LG)
- PGCE Primary (3 to 7) (Code: 38LF)
- PGCE Primary with SEND (children 5 to 11) (Code: 39V9)
Applications for our 2021/22 cohort are closed. In October, the new Department for Education Apply service opened for applicants joining in September 2022. Generate Teaching Hub School Direct can be found by using provider code ’15R’.

Requirements
Applicants require GCSE grade C or above in English, Maths and Science (or equivalent) and an undergraduate degree of 2:1 or better, in any subject.
Experience of working in a school setting is desirable and a clear motivation for joining the teaching profession is essential.
Interview process
All applications undergo a shortlisting process and the best candidates will be invited to undertake an interview.
Interviews take place online (usually via Zoom) with at least two senior school leaders. Submission of qualification certificates and identification is requested in advance. A literacy assessment is also sent before the interview day. During the interview we ask you to make a presentation on why you want to be a teacher and the panel will be keen to learn of your experience, your understanding of the teaching profession plus the skills you bring from your previous study, work and life experience.
Following this, successful candidates will be made a formal offer to join our programme. We will liaise with Liverpool Hope University to process your offer and enrol you on the programme ready for a September start.
Generate Teaching Hub welcomes applications from all backgrounds, particularly candidates from under represented groups.
Please note, that any offer of a place on our programme is conditional on a satisfactory Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service check and a Fitness to Teach Declaration.
